Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L.A. Miller Center on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, Roland Sheppard, aged 75 years. Predeceased by parents Roland and Gladys, brothers Wayne and Lloyd, brothers-in-law Tom Cooper, Jim Cooper, Harvey Cooper, Johnny Latimer, Clarke Switzer, Nels Squires and Reg Matthews. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Olive (nee Cooper); daughters: Lori Coffin (Wayne) of B.C. and Michelle Wagner (Bill) of California; brother Graham; sisters: Bernice Squires, May Matthews of T.O. and Carol Ann Sheppard; brothers-in-law: Byron (Ramona) of B.C. and Ralph (Sandra) of Mt. Pearl; sisters-in-law: Lib Sheppard, Nori Latimer of Texas, Ruby Switzer of Texas, Winnie Smith (Reg), Cynthia Cooper and Betty Cooper, as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Barrett’s Chapel on Monday, Sept. 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road Columbarium.
