Roy Courtney Greeno age 84, of Lorneville, NS passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS with his family by his side.
Born in Lorneville, he was a son of the late Joseph and May (Jackson) Greeno.
He was a farmer all his life, he also enjoyed dancing, going hunting with his brothers Curry and Lee, a good game of cards and camping. The joy of his life were his two grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife Esther (Chapman) Greeno, two daughters Jeanne (Eric) MacGlashen of Tidnish, NS and Sharon of Vancouver, BC, two sons Peter (Marsha) and Eric both of Lorneville, two grandchildren Nicole and Nathan, a special niece Mary Greeno of Lorneville, one sister Joyce Furlong of Moncton, sister in laws Della and Elma and several nieces and nephews as well as step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Alice (Welton), sisters Opal, Lydia, Thelma, Genevieve and Neva and brothers Robert, Sutherland (Jim), Lee, Curry and Ross, two nieces and two step sons.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. with interment at 5:30 p.m. in the Lorneville Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Roy's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or the charity of your choice.
