We wish to thank all who provided comfort and support during the illness and passing of our beloved sister Joanna. To our kind neighbors, friends and relatives who sent food, floral arrangements, messages of sympathy, phone calls and donations to favorite organizations. A special and heartfelt thank you to the medical team that cared for Joanna for many years; family physician Dr. B. O’Brien and Kyrstal, Catherine Schella, staff and nurses at the Glace Bay Hospital, doctors and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Cancer Clinic, staff of Shoppers Drug Mart Glace Bay. Joanna wanted to remain at home and this was possible with the support, excellent care and guidance provided by the palliative care team and the V.O.N. angels. We especially want to thank Joanna’s friends, Brenda Gouthro, Karen Pyke, Karen Simmons and Donna Dwyer for being there for Joanna and for supporting us during the final month. Your kindness will never be forgotten. A sincere thank you to the pallbearers, all cherished friends; Brenda Gouthro, John Mulvihill, Reggie Skanes, David Mitchell, Harrison Budden and Ron Davison. Thank you to Rev. Lloyd Murdock and Vina Johnson and staff at Patten Funeral Home for your compassion and guidance.
