Margaret Johnson Henderson, 96, of Shiretown Apartments, Pictou, and formerly of Scotsburn, passed away July 28, 2011 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Rockfield, Pictou County, she was one of twelve daughters of the late George and Agnes Jane (Carson) Hislop.
A homemaker, Margaret loved to quilt, knit, and garden. She loved her family and especially enjoyed their visits.
Margaret is survived by daughters, Mary (Gerald) Patriquin, Burlington, Ontario; Phyllis (Joe) Gennoe, Stellarton; daughter-in-law, Judy (Vincent) Turple, Scotsburn; grandchildren, Lisa and Donna; Jo-ann, Marie, Belinda and Jim; Selena and Michael; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Zelda, Gladys, and Vesta, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Angus; and son, Allister; sisters, Annie, Georgie, Irene, Ella, Janie, Drucella, Ethel and Charlotte.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 3 p.m. Sunday from Bethel Presbyterian Church, Scotsburn, with Rev. Lara Scholey officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Toney Mills.
