HODGSON, MYRTLE "JEAN" - M. Jean Hodgson of Fredericton, NB, died on Thursday, July 28th, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Victoria Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Myrtle (Russell) Farnham and the wife of Walter C.Hodgson. Survived by her husband, Walter; one son, Peter (Barbara) of Vermont; one daughter, Kathy MacDonald (Chuk) of Fredericton, grandchildren, Mary Hodgson of Miramichi, Cody Hodgson of Vermont, Elizabeth Mitton, Trisha Mitton and Jennifer Mitton all of Fredericton; great grandchildren, Morgan and Mya Hodgson of Miramichi; her siblings, Edris London, of Upper Woodstock, Dean Farnham of Victoria Corner, Shirley Metheny and Vince Farnham both of Cape Cod, Mass. Jean graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1955 from the Saint John General Hospital and afterward attended the University of Toronto. She married Walter in 1957 and worked at the Saint John General Hospital until 1964 when she moved to Fredericton where she worked at both the Victoria Public Hospital and Veterans Unit until 1992. She also worked as a Realtor with Van Wart Realty. She had a strong faith and attended the Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends. She will be sadly missed by all. Predeceased by her parents; siblings, Ronald, Arlo, Avis, Mona and Eileen.
A private visitation will be held for family only. A graveside service will be held at the at St. Mary's the Virgin Anglican Church Cemetery, New Maryland on Tuesday August 2nd, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Right Rev. George Lemmon will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Gideon Bibles or the charity of the donor's choice.
