MALONEY, ANNE MARIE - It is with great sadness the family of Anne Marie Maloney announces her passing on Friday, July 29, 2011 from Bobby's Hope House after a brave battle with cancer. Anne Marie was a stoic and selfless woman - loved by all who were fortunate to know her. Humble, sweet and devoted, she always put others before herself, especially her husband and her children. Born March 10, 1932 in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Oswald and Muriel (Whelpley) Leger. Anne Marie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Maurice Maloney; her six children Dan of Saint John, Jim (Kim) of Riverview, Kevin (Denise) of Quispamsis, Christine Sands (Paul) of Saint John, Rosanne Maloney of Rothesay, and Jill Hayward (Les) of Saint John, brother Franklin Leger (Prissy) of Rothesay, and sister Lucille Killorn (Bill) of Halifax; fourteen grandchildren: Jeffrey & Lee Maloney, Josh & Shauna Sands, Kayla, Brandon & Colin Maloney, Nicholas & Lindsey Maloney, Melissa, Ryan & Gina Hayward, Jack & Sarina Lund; one great grandchild Cohen King, nieces and nephews, and daughter-in-law Elaine Maloney. Anne Marie was pre-deceased by son-in-law Brian Lund. Anne Marie attended St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Grand Bay and was a choir member for over fifteen years. She was also actively involved in Cursillo-Marriage Encounter. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls' High School and Mt. St. Bernard Secretarial School in Antigonish, N.S. (St FX). In recent years, Anne Marie truly enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends including their weekly bridge games. These ladies were a wonderful support for Anne Marie during her illness.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road, (646-2424), with visiting hours on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 3 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Matthews Catholic Church, Grand Bay-Westfield, on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
