Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Souris Hospital on Sunday, July 31, 2011, of Avonetta Gertrude Campbell (nee Smith) of Souris and formerly of Campbell's Cove, aged 74 years. Born in Emerald, P.E.I. on August 13, 1936, daughter of the late Mary (MacInnis) and Cecil Smith and stepfather Henry Mallard. Beloved wife for 52 years of Ronald Campbell. Dear mother to Patsy (Aubrey) Reardon, Martin (Colleen), Carol (Allan) MacDonald, Wayne (Gertie), Gerard (Shelly), Cecil (Sherri), Blair (Jodi), Mary Jane (Mike) Saucier, Judy (Carl) Hennessey, Lynne (Shawn) MacPhee, Terry (Krista), Liza (Graham) Townshend. Grandmother to 35 loving grandchildren. Sister of Charlie, Mickey, Jean, Lloyd and Peter Mallard. Predeceased by infant twins Cecil and Catherine and brother Joseph. Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visitation from Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 2-4 p.m., 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday morning 9-10:30 a.m. Funeral to be held on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011, to St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield for funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery.
