New Glasgow - Norma Ruth Hussey, 78, of New Glasgow, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 30, 2011.
Born June 7, 1933, in Denmark, she was a daughter of the late Kasson and Grace (McCoul) Swan. She was a devoted wife for 54 years of marriage to her loving husband Harold. A soft spoken and humble woman, she remained in her home until the end and will be remembered for her warm, welcoming nature and determined spirit. She was a true animal lover and enjoyed nature to its utmost. She was a very giving and supportive person who showed true and lasting friendship to those who befriended her. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church, the choir and UCW group. She is survived by her husband Harold; daughters: Karen McGowan (Brian); Angela Flemming (Trevor); and Charmaine Hussey; grandchildren: Matthew, Sara and Mitchell.
Her remains are resting at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday. Funeral service 2 pm Wednesday, August 3 at Trinity United Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Shaffner officiating. Interment to follow at Abercrombie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences at: www.rhporter.ca
