The death of Vincent Clarence Jessome, 70, of Sydney Mines occurred peacefully Sunday, July 31, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer, at the Cape Breton Regional Palliative Care Unit.
Born Sept. 8, 1940 in Mill Creek, he was the Son of the late Walter and Mary (Laffin) Jessome.
Vincent was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lorraine; children, Michelle, Tammy, Trina and Gerard; brothers, Patty, Lawrence, Tommy, Ivan, Donnie, David, Peter, Paul and Sheldon; sisters, Honey, Joanne and Audrey and their spouses, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Boe, Gerard and Joseph, and infant sister, Marguerite.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Vincent C. Jessome will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
