MYLES
It is with great sadness the family of CORA MYLES of Moose Jaw announce her passing on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by husband, Vic Myles (1983), by her parents, George and Beatrice Lloyd; and brothers: Dennis and Cecil (Eva) Lloyd. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry (Marilyn) Myles of Moose Jaw; granddaughter, Shelley (Daryl) Newman of Red Deer, grandson, Darren (Tanya) Myles, great-grandson, Justin Myles of Regina; sister-in-law Jean Lloyd of Winnipeg; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Cora was born in Moose Jaw in 1915 and received her education at Empire School and Central Collegiate. In 1939 she married Vic Myles. Because of his hockey career, they lived in Philadelphia, Tulsa, St.Paul, New Haven, and New York before moving back to Moose Jaw. Son Terry was born in 1945. Cora was a long time member of St.Andrew’s United Church, belonging to the JCA Women’s Group. She was also a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi. Blessed with a lovely singing voice, she still sang Handel’s Messiah in her 80’s. Cora always liked to be busy with handwork, bridge, driving people to their appointments and going to the farm to spend time with her grandchildren. A Celebration of Cora’s life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Cora will be laid to rest beside her husband Vic at Rosedale Cemetery.
