Aubrey John Madore
Stephenville Crossing, NL
October 23, 1948 - July 30, 2011
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Aubrey John Madore announce his passing on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his daughter Roxanne (Lindsey) Howell; son Barry (April) Madore; grandchildren: Alicia Howell, Lynea Howell, Jessica Madore, Morgan Madore, Mackenzie Benoit; great-grandson Nashawn Howell; brother Roderick (Elaine) Madore; sisters: Lynda (Bob) Davies, Eleanor Madore (Ed Woolridge); very special friend Margaret Reynolds; as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Austin and Mary Theresa Madore. Aubrey had a love of music all his life. He first began playing guitar at the age of 13, joining such well-known bands as The Ravens and The Bee Bops. Through his love of performing, he emulated such stars as Elvis and Freddie Fender. Bearing a strong resemblance to the latter, he was nicknamed Freddie Fender, needing only the sombrero and poncho to complete the effect. His day job would eventually be in plastering and painting, but his chosen career was in music which he pursued all his life. Eventually, with his son, Barry, he recorded a CD, entitled The Country Searchers. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Stephenville Crossing. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
