GATZKE: June Louise Gatzke, Age 93 of Swift Current, SK passed away Friday, June 29, 2011, at the Swift Current Care Centre. The graveside service with the interement of her cremated remains took place at 11:00 A.M., Teusday, August 2, 2011 at the family plot in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. June is survived by her daughter Shirley (Clint) Terlson:; grandchildren: Scott (Darla) Terlson and their children Garrett and Sienna; Tara (Tom) Christiansen and their son Dalton; a son-in-law Orville McGregor; grandsons Michael (Val) McGregor, and his children: Amanda (John) Duutchak and Brodie, Alyssia and Stephanie; Paul McGregor. She was predeceased by her parents James and Sally Harper; her husband Lester Gatzke and a daughter Sheila McGregor. June was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, August 30, 1917. She attended school in St. Paul, Swift Current and thence to Teacher's College in the U.S. She taught in Hallondquist, Webb and Success schools. June and Lester were united in marriage on March 30, 1961. The couple resided and farmed in the Webb District until retirement in 1973, then moved to Swift Current. June was a member of te Webb Curling Club, Swift Current Ladies Curling Club and Church Groups. Her special interests included sewing, playing bridge and canasta. She will be missed by her family, especilly the grandchildren and great grandchildren "the love of her life". Memorial donations in her memory to the Swift Current Care Centre or to a charilty of the donors's choice would be appreciated by the family.
