HUNTLEY: Yvonne Louise Huntley (Nee: Dooley) age 82 of Swift Current, Sk passed away July 27, 2011 at Cypress Regional Hospital. There was no formal service. Yvonne is survived by her four daughters; Charlotte (Dennis) Sutherland, Lois Currie, Patti Huntley, all of Swift Current, and Melissa (Blair) Pigeon of Whitehorse YT.; sister Jane Baumann of Lethbridge, AB. Grandchildren Wade Sutherland, Sherri (Terry) Lovestone, Lana (Jeff) Lingelbach, Robin Currie, Jay Gaudry, Derek (Tracy) Gaudry and Kelsey Pigeon.; great grandchildren, Maygen, Taylor, Nicole, Mariah, Laila, Jesak, Jaeger, Mitchell, James, Brandon, Sara and Paige. Yvonne was lovingly anticipating the birth of her great great grandchild in December and she had numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mel in 1992, three brothers and one sister. Yvonne was born in Spokane, Washington on August 14, 1928. She married Melbourne Huntley in 1947 in Swift Current. They farmed for a short period of time, where their first daughter Charlotte was born. They moved into Swift Current with the birth of Lois and Patti. Dad worked for Motorways and was transferred to Calgary in 1963, where their youngest daughter, Missy, was born a year later. Mom and Dad retired to Salmon Arm until Dad's passing and Mom moved back to Calgary. Mom moved back to Swift Current in 2006. Mom was very devoted to her family and so proud of their accomplishments. Mom enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She made many friendships thru out her life, one being Marlene Martinoski, which lasted over 50 years. Thank you to family and friends for their generous acts of kindness with fresh baked goods and garden vegetables. Your kind thoughts and condolences are comforting at this time. We also wish to thank the Doctors and Nursing staff at Cypress Regional Hospital as well as the Ambulance personell for their wonderful care and compassion that was given during Mom's stay in hospital.
