Passed away at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, in Thorold, Ontario on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the age of 64. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Jean D'Amelio Swyer; and loving sons Ian and Craig. He is also survived by his siblings Willie (Brenda) Swyer, Foster Swyer, Fiona (Fred) Beek and Jean (Paul) Persin; sister-in-law Barbara (Richard) Matthie, his only surviving Uncle Harold (Yvette) Swyer, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Anne Swyer of Barachois Brook, nephew Matthew Persin and parents-in-law John and Maria D'Amelio. Stu worked for the Linerboard Mill in Stephenville in the 1970’s and for Abitibi Bowater in Thorold as an engineer for over 30 years, retiring in 2008. Funeral Service was held at the Lamb-Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, Thorold, Ontario. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum, Thorold.
