Died suddenly on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, in Ottawa, the cherished husband of Barbara Murphy Patterson, originally of St. John’s Newfoundland; beloved brother of Garrett (Sylvia), Nicholas and the late Redmond; uncle of Nicholas and Helen (Robert Vandenberg) and great-uncle of Isaac and Samuel Vandenberg. David had a long distinguished career as a lawyer, specializing in international law with the Justice Department of Canada. Over the decades, he represented the Government in numerous major projects and enterprises across Canada and abroad. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair, & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, (at O’Connor), Friday, August 5 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 95 Somerset St. West, Ottawa, on Saturday, August 6th, at 9:45 am.
