CATHERINE JANE FORD (nee McBRIDE)
November 8, 1960 - September 26, 2009
On Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 12:01 p.m. our Cathy, with great dignity, very peacefully passed into the presence of Jesus Christ, His angels and the heavenly host, surrounded by all of our family holding her, loving her and cheering her on.
Cathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 28 years her Michael; oldest son Justin-Michael Edwin; daughter-in-law Alison; youngest son Matthias Christian; and her baby girl Breanna Victoria.
Cathy is also survived by her Grandma Emma Masters; Mom and Dad, Willis and Evelyn McBride; brothers Brian McBride, Steve McBride and Doug McBride; sisters Linda McBride and Charlene (Spaz) McBride; parents-in-law Murray and Joan Ford, Roger and Shelly Ford, and Robert and Roberta Ford; and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Cathy was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Chris Prichard and Clarke Bradley, and sister-in-law Corrine McBride.
Cathy was born in Matheson, Ontario on November 8, 1960, the youngest child to Willis and Evelyn McBride. She lived in Asbestos, Quebec until 1970 and moved to Logan Lake where she and Mike met in 1979. They married in 1981 and have been each others best friends and partners in crime ever since. They were the A Team, always up to the antics of their daredevil sons, Jus and Matty, and their Princess Bee.
Cath was an extremely kind, generous and compassionate person. She loved her family, the moon, Colombo, physical comedy, Broadway shows, drag racing, Nascar, the Olympics, dance, Wimbledon, the Scott Tournament of Hearts, Queen, Michael Jackson and the B.C. Lions. Cath and Mike attended many of the Leos games and were faithfully in front of the TV whenever B.C. played, including while she was in hospice care. She had an amazing sense of humour and a completely infectious laugh but she was intensely private and proud. She revealed her true self only to us, her family, who were so privileged to have her and have truly known her. Thank you for gifting us with Cath, Lord.

As a family we would like to thank our doctors in Logan Lake, Kamloops and Vancouver - Dr. Schudamoore, Dr. Proctor, Dr. Coppin, Dr. Pache, Dr. Sheik, Dr. Newmarch, Dr. Just and Dr. Rawson; our local paramedics; the Logan Lake Medical Clinic Jenny and \"Wee\" Bonnie. We are especially grateful to Dona, our wonderful, compassionate local pharmacist in Logan Lake. Many times she has gone beyond the call to help us out. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and volunteers who grace the R.I.H. Cancer Clinic with their presence and compassion. Lastly words cannot express how eternally grateful we are to the kind, loving people who tirelessly, and always with a smile under very difficult circumstances, choose to volunteer or work at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House. What would we have done without you? Thank you for the love, the respect and the compassion you have shown each of us and, most importantly, our beloved little Cath. She adored each of you. Now we know where all the angels on earth work, they work in hospices. God bless all of you.
Flowers are respectfully declined. Please send a donation instead to the Royal Inland Hospital Cancer Clinic or the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House in honour of our Cathy, to continue the work and bless others in their most trying times.
We invite our friends to celebrate Cath\'s life with us on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the church where Mike and Cathy were married, the Logan Lake Community Church. Reverend Harry Holmquist will do us the honour and officiate. Thank you Pastor Harry.
