Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on February 21, 2008. Leaving to mourn brother John Carter, St. John's; sister Elizabeth Gibson, London; brother-in-law Sidney Morris, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Halleran and Brenda Carter, St. John's; nephews: Robert Morris (Ann) and family, Susan Pye, wife of Richard Morris (deceased) and family, Peter Morris (Sally) and family, all of St. John's and Philip Morris (Susan) and family of Corner Brook, Richard Brettell and family, Australia, David Brettel (Linda) and family, Hong Kong, James Brettell and Andrew Brettell, United Kingdom, Ian Carter and family, Jeremy Carter and family; niece Alison Carter (Geoff) and family. Also leaving to mourn many old and new friends. The family will receive visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Predeceased by her husband Thomas (1997); daughter Monica (1972); son Kevin (1972); granddaughter Natel (2004); parents, Anthony and Lucy Meade; brothers: Stephen and Anthony. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, sons: Thomas (Loretta), Anthony (Ruth), George (Darlene), Aloysius (Barbara), Danny Francis (Jackie), Maurice (Marjorie) and John (Debbie); daughters: Genevieve Chantler, Carmelita Spurvey (Frank Hefford), Catherine (George) Marshall, Martha (Morris) Lynch and Lucy (Gerard) Doody; brother Patrick; sisters: Sr. Daniel Marie, SPF and Mary (Adolph) LeRoux; second mother to Sylvia Marshall; sisters-in-law: Pauline Norman, Elizabeth Meade and Agatha Purchase; special granddaughter Lori Lynn Bridger; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends, especially Austin Campbell. Remains resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Thursday and Friday 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia.
