EDDY, Alec Raymond – It is with great sadness that the family of Alec Raymond Eddy announces his passing on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 at the age of 73, after a short battle with cancer. Alec leaves to mourn his loving wife Evelyn of 51 years, Daughters, Christine Barrett (Garry) of Fort McMurray, AB; Sharon Andrews (Mark) of High Level, AB; Paula Norman (Bradley) of Fort McMurray, AB; Tammy Hansen (Trevor) of Fort McMurray, AB. Grandchildren, Charlene Christie (Randy), Amelia Andrews, Kyle Andrews, Cody Hansen, Branden Hansen, Chloe Norman and Great Grandson, Seth Christie. Sister, Voilet White, Broad Cove, NL and brothers, John, Lester and Walter Eddy, Swift Current, NL. Pre-deceased by mother Alice and father Arthur Eddy; Sisters, Jenny Eddy, Maud Barrett and brother Herbert Eddy. Alec was born in Garden Cove, NL on October 30, 1935. He met Evelyn Peach from Spencers Cove and were married in 1957. He lived in Swift Current, NL, Wabush Lab, and Fort McMurray, AB, with his wife and four daughters. He was a heavy duty mechanic by trade. Alec worked at the Come-By-Chance-Oil Refinery in NL, Wabush Mines in Labrador, Syncrude Canada Ltd, Fort McKay Group of Co., and Guthrie Mechanical. Alec loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, cook-ups, berry picking and boating. He was a kind and devoted loving husband and father, brother, Uncle and friend. Funeral Services will take place at the First United Church in Swift Current, NL.
