HARRIS, Waldo Dalton - 74, of Greenfield, Kings County, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with his family by his side. Born in Greenfield, he was a son of the late Wesley and Harriette (Davidson) Harris. He had been employed with the Department of Transportation in New Minas, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and Country and Western music. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Davidson); a son, Dwayne, Canning; stepchildren, Leonard (Aaron) Miller, British Columbia; June (Eugene) Spencer, West Brooklyn; Heather (Gerald) Curry, New Minas; Rebecca (Matthew Small) Miller-Small, Ontario; Melissa (Jamie) Jodrey, Steam Mill; five sisters, Marguerite Jordan, Hazel (Ron) Corbett, Marjorie LeBlanc, Pauline Atwell and Gloria (Orin) Rafuse; three brothers, Harlen (Connie), Hartley (Paulette) and David (Joanne); a sister-in-law, Burtha Harris; a brother-in-law, Ernest Atwell; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Lovett, Elwin and Wesley Jr.; a brother-in-law, Raleigh Jordan; a sister-in-law, Nettie Harris. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011, Reverend Ellen Hunt officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Greenfield Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
