Violet Lillian Kimm, 85, of Glace Bay, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with her family by her side.
Violet was born in Glace Bay to the late Jack and Lillian (Curtis) Hiscock.
Violet is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Alfred; son, Wayne (Kathy); and only grandchild, Pamela, who she loved and adored. She is also survived by her brothers, John (Mae), Reserve Mines and Sheldon (Ester), Glace Bay; sisters, Elizabeth “Bess” MacDonald and Dianne (Jimmy) Wilson, both of Ontario; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hiscock, Theresa Hiscock, Anne Dean and Hannah Dean; brother-in-law, Max Kimm; numerous nieces and nephews.
Violet was predeceased by brothers, Graham ‘Sonny’ Hiscock and Clayton Hiscock and sister, Dolores in infancy.
In honouring Violet's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel, Sydney. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 257 Reserve St., Glace Bay on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. Following the service, a reception will be held. All are welcome.
