LENT, Georgia A. – 88, of Advocate Harbour, Cumberland Co. passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Bayview Memorial Health Centre, Advocate Harbour. Born in Advocate Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Georgia (Stevens) Dewis. Georgia was a life-long resident of Advocate where she and her late husband, Ron built and operated what is now known as Chignecto Manor. They also opened and ran the Harbourlite Restaurant for many years, as well as operating a service station, fishing fleet and several other small businesses in the area. Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She was an active worker in the community and a dedicated church member. She was well known and respected for her angelic qualities and kindness to others. She and her cat were always happy to welcome visitors. Georgia was the last surviving member of her family and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughters, Gloria Lemay, Advocate Harbour; Barbara Morris (Reid), Sherwood Park, Alta; sons, Wayne (Laverne), Advocate Harbour; Ronald (Jacquie), Winnipeg; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; a grandson, Clyde; son-in-law, Jacques; sisters, Alice and Ruth; brothers, John, Scott, Rhodes, Ronald; half-brother, Stevens; step-sister, Emma. Visitation 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the Advocate Baptist Church, where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Rev. Donald Hirtle officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery.
