It is with sadness, that we, the family, announce the peacful passing of Andrew ‘Pete’ Petrie at his residence on Aug. 8, 2011.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Protose ‘Spud’ and Rita Petrie.
Pete was employed with Devco for many years. His favourite spot to hunt and fish was his beloved Iona.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (McPhee); children, Terrie (Jason) Aucoin, Andy (Bina), Allison (Chris) Petrie; many grandchildren; mother-in-law, Theresa McPhee; five sisters; one brother and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Leo Boone will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
