RECORD, FLORENCE IRENE (DENNISON) - The death of Florence Irene Record, wife of the late Eric (Bud) G. Record, occurred on Monday, August 9, 2011 in Denison, Texas. Born in Bryants Corner, Kent County, N.B. on May 6, 1926, Florence was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Dennison. As a child, she attended King Edward School in Saint John and, later, as a teen worked at the Red Ball Brewery. Following her marriage to Bud on January 6, 1944, the couple moved to Newton, Massachusetts where he was employed by the Raytheon Corporation. They lived there for several years before re-locating to Texas where he was then employed by Bell Helicopter. Florence was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Women’s Auxiliary for over forty years and enjoyed her work with that organization. Florence is survived by her two sons Eric M. Record of Pottsboro, Texas and Robert Record of Roanoke, Texas as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Malcolm G. Dennison of Saint John, N.B., sisters Lois B. Wooden (Albert) of Norton, N.B. and Virginia M. Hodgins (Joseph) of Minesing, Ontario, as well as several nieces and nephews in both Canada and the United States. Florence was pre-deceased by her eldest son Everett Record of Roanoke, Texas as well as one brother, Curtis A. Dennison of Saint John, N.B. and sisters Elma Blizzard of Pickering, Ontario, Joyce Webber of Saint John, N.B. and Gloria Greene of Waco, Texas.
Her committal service is scheduled for Monday, August 15, 2011 in Roanoke, Texas.
