MARSHALL, Glennie Fielding - 98, of Kentville, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Paradise, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Lulu (Durling) Corbett. She was a graduate of Mack Business College. She had been a member of the Kentville Baptist Church, where she had been an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and a former member of the Ken-Wo Golf and Country Club, a former member and past president of the Glooscap Curling Club, an avid bridge player and also enjoyed gardening and needlework. She is survived by a son, Alan (Pat) Marshall, Kentville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Marshall, Kentville; a sister, Shirley Fiske, Lawrencetown, Annapolis County; four grandchildren, Peter (Joanne) Marshall, Kentville; Todd (Susan) Marshall, Moncton; David (Kerri) Marshall, Port Williams; Jocelyn (Robin) Watson, Peachland, British Columbia; six great grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Nicole, Makenna, Liam and Keaton; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sr.; a son, Joseph Jr., a daughter-in-law, Sharon; a sister, Doris; a brother, Malcolm and an infant sister, Freda. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff, caregivers and friends of both Tibbett’s Home for Special Care, Wilmot and Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, for their loving care, kindness and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
