William passed away peacefully on Monday September 28, 2009 at the age of 76, at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice, Kamloops, B.C., with his family by his side.
He will be remembered by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Jean, his caring children Michelle of Georgian Bay, ON, Kyle (Catherine) and grandchildren Juliet and William of Sun Peaks, B.C.
William will be sadly missed by his four brothers: Eddie, (Mary), Derek, (Jeanette), Michael, (Ann) of Annan, Scotland, John, (Joan) and sister Pat, (Fred Siddons) of Ontario, as well as his nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Edward McGauchie and sister Kathleen in Scotland.
Born in Annan, Scotland on May 20th, 1933, William was raised in Annan and Clyde Bank, Scotland. He served in the Queen's Horse Guards in London, U.K. before sailing to Canada. He then served as a Metropolitan Toronto Mounted Police Officer and later he became the Chief of Security of Hotels: Four Seasons and the Hyatt.
Bill met his wife Jean at a Grey Cup party at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto, Canada. His passions were soccer, golfing and sailing on Lake Ontario with his family. Upon retiring, Bill and Jean relocated to Kamloops, B.C. to be near their two cherished grandchildren.
As the Chieftain of his Clan he will be fondly remembered for his strong presence and pride of his family and heritage.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 at the Schoening Funeral Home, 513 Seymour St., Kamloops, B.C with The Very Reverend Louise Peters officiating. Viewing at 1:00 p.m., a reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
