It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Beverly Hasiuk on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at the Halifax Infirmary, with her sons at her side.
Beverly was born in Sydney on Sept. 4, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Violet Muise.
Beverly is survived by her sons, Todd Schmitt (Felicia) and Stephen (Tracey), both of Sydney. She is also survived by the love of her life, her grandson, Todd. Beverly will also be remembered by grandchildren, Kevin, Macey and Jeremy, who will never forget the care she gave them.
Beverly is survived by her brothers, Brian (Cynthia), David (Sandra), Terry (Joanne) and Kenny; her sisters, Pam, Louise, Darlene MacPhee and Debbie (Bernie Campbell); as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Bev was predeceased by her husband, Steve Hasiuk, her sisters, Brenda Litowski and Judy Flynn, one brother, Brian in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a funeral mass 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Holy Redeemer parish, Whitney Pier.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
Bev was a fiercely independent lady, who fought long and hard against the body she was given.
“Her pain was felt throughout the land,
to feel true misery is impossible to stand.
We pray that when her hurting stops,
we’ll be able to see the angel’s teardrops.”
