We regret to announce the passing of Catherine Marinelli, 56, of Sydney Mines, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Ottawa on Jan. 21, 1955, Cathy was the daughter of the late Hector and Marie Mooers.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John G. Marinelli; sisters, Janet (Sandy) MacDonald, Calgary, Patricia Mooers, Sydney, Carol (Walther) Konrad, Baden, Austria, Sheila (Joe) Snyder, London, Ont., and Nancy Deshaw, Saskatoon. Cathy is also survived by stepchildren in Ottawa and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Hector and Marie Mooers and brothers, Tommy and Brian, on July 20, 1968.
Cathy’s family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Beth MacCormick and her staff of Sydney Mines for many years of compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cathy’s memory may be made to the local SPCA.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at 2 p.m., with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
