Bruce Givens of Kamloops, BC passed away peacefully on his 68th birthday, August 9, 2011 after a long and brave battle with cancer at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops.

Bruce was predeceased by his father Bruce Sr., his mother Helen and brother Ken.

He leaves to mourn his brothers Howard (Maureen) and Dale (Glenda); his sisters Cheryl (John) and Shannon (Rick); and numerous nephews and nieces.

Bruce was born on August 9, 1943 in Brandon MB. The family moved to Saskatoon, SK where Bruce developed a great love of sports. He became very involved with amateur hockey at a young age and showed his ability with many city championships. Bruce relocated to Vancouver where he again showed his talent by coaching women's fastball for many years.

The last 20 years of his life, Bruce lived in Kamloops where he enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing in many tournaments.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Schoenings Funeral Home, 513 Seymour Street. Kamloops.
