We are very saddened to announce the sudden passing of Madeline MacInnis at home on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. Madeline was the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget MacNeil.
Surviving are her loving sons, Jimmy and Derek, who took very good care of their mother over the past few years. Madeline is also survived by the light of her life, granddaughter, Madeline Rhyan MacInnis; sister, Beatrice MacDougall of Ontario; sisters-in-law, Jo Beaton, Glace Bay, and Stacia MacPherson, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her husband, Jimmy, brothers, Ambrose, Gerald, Joey, sisters, Catherine, Dorothy and Pearl and father and mother-in-law, William S. and Kathryn (Wright) MacInnis.
In her younger years, Madeline enjoyed playing darts with her neighbours and friends. For 10 years, Madeline, who had a great love for children, volunteered at the Town House Nursery School. She journeyed to many parts of the world with her husband, Jimmy and they had many interesting stories to tell of their travels. Madeline was a kind and gentle woman who had a beautiful smile and loved her family dearly.
At Madeline's request there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Austen officiating. Reception will follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Charitable donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
