Demone, Wilfred Gordon – 84, Truro, passed away August 17, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro surrounded by loved ones. Born in First South, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Fred and Mabel (Spindler) Demone. Wilfred served as a marine engineer during the war years. Later he became a stationary engineer. He retired from his profession in the Colchester Regional Hospital where he served as chief engineer. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, music and being with “friends from the office”. He also enjoyed attending area dances. He is survived by his special friend, Jean Burgess; daughters, Carolyn (Laurie) Sidney, Halifax, Linda (Bill) Nehiley, Sackville; brother, Gordon (Velma), Rhodes Corner; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary in infancy; brother, Donald. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 1:30 pm in Middle LaHave Cemetery, Lunenburg Co. with Rev. Ron Frampton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Special thanks to Dr. Singh, Dr. Henderson, Ann McKim, and the Palliative Team members, including the VON nurses.
