HILLSIDE – David Phalen, age 64, of Hillside Road, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Harry and Margaret (DeYoung) Phalen.
He enjoyed playing cards and pool, camping, fishing, hunting, and was well liked by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by daughters, Sandy (Dana DeMings), New Glasgow; Laurie, Trenton; sister: Mabel (Lewis Fraser); brothers: Bill (Shirley); Gerald (Sally); Eddy (Carol); Patrick (Patty); Bruce (Shirley); grandchildren, Quinn and Kieran DeMings; mother-in-law, Camilla Finley; sister-in-law, Eloise (Brian) Allen; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Dianne Finley; sister, Brenda McMullen.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Alan Klein officiating. Burial will be in Amherst Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
