Robert Andrew Verney
Verney, Robert Andrew “Andy”- 54, Little Dyke, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, August 20th, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in East York, Ontario, he was a son of Viola Aylward and the late William Verney. Andy spent his years growing up in Londonderry where he enjoyed playing baseball and attended school until grade 6; then off to Junior High School in Bass River; then to Cobequid Educational Centre in Truro. He then attended the Commercial Safety College in Masstown. Andy spent all of his adult years in the trucking industry, the last 15 of which with Marwood Ltd./Cape Cod Finished Wood Siding, a job he truly loved where he met many of his best friends. He was an avid motorcyclist and had a passion for long road trips with Janice and his good biking friends including his brother Greg and his wife, Dawn. Stopping at great places to eat was always a true joy! He had a true love for all motorcycles, however his Kawasaki was his favourite, and he even liked Harleys. Another favourite part of his life were travels to the South, his favourite times being the trips with Janice, and the Taylors; Robin and Janet. While unpacking from one trip he’d start talking about the next one coming! His greatest joy was spending time outside with his family, camping, building backyard skating rinks and ballfields, playing washer toss and teaching his children to use power tools.
