LAVERS, Beth Irene — 52, Windsor, Hants Co., passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, Beth was the daughter of Phyllis Mildred (Anthony) Lavers, Three Mile Plains and the late Harold Morris Lavers. Beth was a resident of Kendall Lane (Special Care for Disabled Young Adults) for the past 12 years. Born with Spina Bifida and having suffered a stroke in early adulthood, she endured many challenges in life, but put up the good fight right up until the end. Besides her mother, she is survived by her siblings, Hal (Joy), Garlands Crossing; Marianne Lavers, Three Mile Plains; Wade (Tina), Three Mile Plains; Wanda (Kevin) Lantz, Falmouth; Vicki Lavers (Shawn Eldridge), Falmouth; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Natalie Stewart), Tim (Megan Marsters), Traci (Robert Hurshman), Josh (Krysta King), Lydia (Dylan Parker), Alex, Lacey (Jeff) McCarthy-Voegeli, Justin McCarthy, Brody Lantz, Kayla Eldridge and Nick Eldridge. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral and Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors Monday, August 15, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, in Windsor United Church, 613 King Street, Windsor, Rev. Heather MacDougall officiating. Interment was held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, with a reception following in the Three Mile Plains Community Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Beth may be made to the Sunshine Group (a fund to help with recreational outings for disabled residents at Kendall Lane), PO Box 556, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0; the Windsor Senior Citizens Bus Society, PO Box 957, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0; Hants Community Hospital Foundation, 89 Payzant Drive, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one's choice. Special thanks goes to Beth’s second family at Kendall Lane, her many caregivers for their loving care and endless patience and to the residents at Kendall Court. Also, thanks to Dr. Tim Matheson, Dr. Cathryn Smith, Dr. Mark Kazimirski, Dr. Bill Enright and the many doctors and nurses who have tended to Beth over the years.
