Dorothy passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Aug. 22, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, Dorothy stayed active until her 93rd year playing cards and bowling with her many friends. She was a member of the Steelworker's and Sydney Pensioner's Club.
She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Dorothy was predeceased by husband, Fred and son, Thomas (in infancy); brothers, William and Walter and sister, Edith.
Survived by sons, Fred (Claire), Everett, Roger (Linda), Kevin (Theresa), Douglas and Raymond (Maureen) and daughters, Colleen (Nick) and Sharon (Jean-Guy). Nanny will be lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church in Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
