DesROCHES, ARTHUR EMANUEL - 1912-2011 - Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, with his family by his side of Arthur Emaneul DesRoches formerly of Tignish, aged 99 years. Born at Tignish Shore on June 18, 1912, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Gertrude (nee Gaudet DesRoches). Lovingly remembered by his wife Annie (nee Richard Bernard) DesRoches of the Tignish Seniors Coop Home, and by children Edgar (Mary) of Toronto; Gerald (Ann Marie) of Johnstons River, P.E.I.; Doreen (Armand) Arsenault of Peabody Mass; Anita (late Ron) Breau of Dieppe, N.B.; Lloyd (Lorie) of Riverview, N.B.; Aubrey (Isabel) of Cornwall, P.E.I.; Joyce (Gordon) Brown of Riverview, N.B.; Eric (Bernadine) of York, P.E.I.; Leona (Bernard) Keefe of Cherry Valley, P.E.I.; Dennis of Edmonton, Alberta. Step-father to Angela LeClair of St. Felix, P.E.I.; Jean Richard of Charlottetown; Everett (Celina) Richard of Summerside. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren and by his 14 great-grandchildren. Brother-in-law to Hilda DesRoches, Lucy Doucette and Evelyn Arsenault all of Tignish. He was predeceased by his first wife Eva nee (Chaission) DesRoches in 1977 his son Cecil in 1969, son-in-law Ron Breau and by siblings Minnie, Annie, Lorette, Gilbert, Eddie and Frank.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home in Alberton. Visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday morning August 27th from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Brendon Gallant celebrant.
