It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Francis Campbell on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at his home.
Born in Jamesville, Iona, March 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Colin and Catherine (Beaton) Campbell.
He was a carpenter by trade, and lived in Sydney for the past 20 years.
Francis will be missed by all of his family and many great friends.
He is survived by his former wife, Christena ‘Tena’ Beaton, Sydney; his brother, Michael Campbell, Baddeck; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Annie Sarah and a brother, John.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 25 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will take place 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26 in the funeral home chapel. Intement to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, MacKinnon’s Harbour.
