Kenneth Malcolm Harper

Sackville, N.B. – It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth M. Harper announces his passing on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Kenneth passed away peacefully at his home, with his family at his side, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Sackville, N.B., on October 18, 1942 he was the son of the late Ethel (Stokes) and Harry Harper.
Ken was an employee of AIL Industries in Dorchester, N.B. for 33 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, four-wheeling and working in the woods. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but most importantly cherished his time with his grandchildren who were the lights of his life.
Ken will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Sheila (Mosher) Harper of Sackville, N.B.; son Bruce (Monica) Harper of Dieppe, N.B.; daughter Tammy (Wade) Wheaton of Sackville, N.B.; brother Ernest (Cassie) Harper of Sackville, N.B.; two sisters, Mildred Holmes of Sackville, N.B. and Carol (Angus) MacEachern of Beaverbank, N.S.; four grandchildren, Jessie Wheaton of Estevan, Saskatchewan, Briley Wheaton of Sackville, N.B. and Cody and Kaitlyn Harper of Dieppe, N.B.; mother-in-law Noreen Mosher of Sackville, N.B.; brother-in-law Lloyd N. Mosher of Moncton, N.B.; four sisters-in-law, Heather (Roger) Savoie of Saint John, N.B., Cindy (Alan) Prescott of Sackville, N.B., Rose Harper of Brantford, Ontario and Dianna Finley of Dorchester, N.B. and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ethel (Stokes) and Harry Harper; two brothers, Harry and Preston Harper; infant sister Barbara and by his father-in-law Lloyd F. Mosher.
Arrangements were entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Ken’s wishes cremation took place.
Visitation took place at the funeral home on Saturday, August 20, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Moncton Hospital, Tantramar Extramural, Canadian Cancer Society Research Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
