It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of John Hector McInnis at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. Hector is survived by his loving wife, Rita (nee Gaudet) McInnis of 63 years and loving father to Lorraine (Don) Kerwin, Ronnie (Mary) McInnis, Elaine (Louie) Chiarelli. Predeceased by a daughter Ruby (Bozick) McInnis. Lovingly remembered and cherished by his grandchildren, Leslee (David) Jabbour, Ryan (Tammy) Kerwin, Jennifer (Ronny) Hoveland McInnis, Jamie McInnis, E.J. and Andrew Bozick, Jordon and Emily Chiarelli. He will also be sadly missed by his special great-grandchildren, Liam and Avery Kerwin and Joseph Jabbour. Dear brother to Hattie (Bill) Stimpson, Florence Kamins, Jewell (Lennie) Schley, Paul (Carol) McInnis all of New Jersey U.S.A. Dear brother-in-law to Irene (late Aubin) Gallant, Charlie (Eva) Gaudet, Peter (late Mae) Gaudet, Jeannette (late Joe) Gaudet, Stella (late Albert) Gaudet all of Tignish, Edward (Marion) Gaudet of Prescott Ont., and Eileen McInnis. Hector is survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Hector was born in Tignish on Dec. 21, 1927, and was the 7th child of the late Augustine (Gussie) and Annie nee (Buote) McInnis. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Helena, Eleanor, Shirley, Suddy, Charlie and James. He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Urban A. and Catherine (nee LeClair) Gaudet and a brother-in-law, J.Henri Gaudet. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. If so desired memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Simon and St. Jude Organ Restoration Fund would be gratefully appreciated. The members of the Tignish Branch #6 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m.
