Peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2009. Predeceased by his first wife Rita and his parents Lyndon and Frances Ewers. Beloved husband of Marjorie. Dear stepfather of Wayne (Julie), Ian (Janet) and step-grandfather of Liam, Ryan, Brendan and Caitlyn. Survived by his sister Lynda Ballinger, his niece Rita Crean (Steve), his nephew Robert (Claire) and Uncle Sid (Nancy). Special friends Christine and Garry O’Rourke. The family will receive friends at Carnells Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m., with interment of ashes to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
