It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Young (Betty) announce her passing on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home in Shallop Cove, NL at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 36 years Alexander (Sandy) Young; daughter Gina (Greg Colombe), Fort McMurray; son Michael (Lynn) Young, Branton, ON; 4 grandchildren: Connor, Micheal, Dominic, Falieta; sisters: Linda (Joe White), Stephenville Crossing, Rita (Edward) Hawco, Calgary, AB, Beatrice (Thomas) White; brothers: Danny (Ann) Blanchard, Shallop Cove, St. George’s, Gerard (Lorraine) Blanchard, Stephenville Crossing, Shawn (Melina) Blanchard, Calgary, AB; nieces and nephews: Stephen, Scott, Jeremy, Conrad, Tony, Nikki (Charlie) Hudson and grandniece Shyla Rae, Amanda, Sara, Juanita (Mike) and grand nieces and nephew Masion, Javin, Callie, Lenny (April), Matthew, Ashley as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from St. Joseph’s Parish in St. George’s on Sunday from 7–9 p.m. and Monday from 10–12 a.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
