It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Wayne MacDonald died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
He worked at the Shell garage in Sydney Mines for a number of years and was a member of the Sydney Mines Police Force for 18 years.
He is survived by his children, Marlene (Wayne), Anne Lynn (Newfie), Melinda (Brian), Wayne (Edna), Shauna (Reggie), Ilana (Danny) and Wayne Gerard (Megan); his grandchildren, Curtis, Jessica, Natasha, David, Courtney, Sonia, James, Emma, Adam, Matthew, Corey, Amanda and special grandson, Jeffrey and his great-grandchildren, Keigan, Karlee and Marisa. Also surviving are his brothers, Clifford (Madonna) and William ‘Sonny’ (Ellen) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Jessome), his parents, Clifford and Isabel MacDonald and his sister, Marlene Would.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. in St. Pius X Church with Fr. Thomas John officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
