It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of Brendan, age 66, after a short, brave and gallant battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 5, 2009. Brendan is predeceased by his parents Annie and Luke, sisters Joan McDonald and Mary Reynolds; brothers Kevin and Dave. Leaving to mourn their sad loss, with lots of beautiful memories, his loving wife Philomena (Fitzpatrick), son Chad, daughter Rhonda Legge (Rod) and darling grandchildren Justin, Joshua and Andrew, who will miss their poppy so much; his brothers Brian (Mary) and Leo (Christine); sisters Shirley McDonald; Joyce Solkov, California; Audrey Knodell (Bob), N.B.; and Hazel Power; mother-in-law Florence Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law Marg McDonald, along with many friends and relatives and the entire McDonald and Fitzpatrick families. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7, 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Brendan’s life will be held at St. Teresa’s Church, Thursday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Brendan’s memory may be made to The Candlelighters Association of NL or The Children’s Wish Foundation of NL, so each group may continue the good work of looking after children with cancer.
