THERESA "TESSY" WHITE

Card of Thanks
WHITE:

The family of the late Theresa “Tessy” White would like to extend a sincere and heart-filled thank you to all relatives and friends for your expressions of sympathy during our recent loss. Words cannot adequately express how overwhelmed we were by the generous acts of kindness and support expressed through Mass and sympathy cards, donations to charities, food, flowers, phone calls, on-line condolences, prayers and visits during our time of bereavement as well as during Tessy’s illness. Special thanks and acknowledgement to Dr. Benstead and the ALS team in Halifax for their guidance and assistance as our family navigated through such a difficult disease; to Dr. Brake and Dr. Shabban from the Cape Breton District Regional Health Authority for their compassion and care; to Dr. Lange, Dr. D’Intino, NP Planetta, Sandra and the VON for their visits and support to both Tessy and the family; to our wonderful OT, physio and rehab team whose focus was about “living.” A most heartfelt thank you to all those that traveled from near and far to support us at the funeral home and during the beautiful funeral Mass. May God bless Fr. Ray Huntley for his warmth, compassion, visits with Tessy and the family and for officiating such a wonderful funeral service. Special thanks to St. Leonard’s Choir and Nipper MacLeod for the inspirational music; to pallbearers: Dale, Dillon, Gregory, Michael, Matthew and Barry; to readers: Mikey and Greg; and to the CWL for preparing and hosting the luncheon after Mass. To Basil and Kenny McGillivray and Staff at McGillivray’s Funeral Home- you are consummate professionals whose compassion and sympathetic approach assisted us greatly in our time of grief and your attention to every detail will never be forgotten. There were wonderful people around Tessy on a daily basis and her family would like to personally thank Mary, Lorette, Rose and Winston, Colena, Betty, Sr. Ann Marie, Fr. Albert, Fr. Damien and our extended families for never being far away in body or spirit as this battle was truly a ‘team’ effort. Thanks also to the ALS Society of NS, the two Cordell’s, Hillary and Rick and team for the assistance with equipment, renos and ramp. Although ALS has no cure, Tessy fought the disease valiantly and courageously and through her efforts progress has been made in terms of education, awareness and donations to ALS NS.
We will miss Tessy everyday but are honored at the legacy this wonderful and heroic woman has left behind.

Most sincerely,
Joey, Joanne, Nancy, Robert, David and families.
