MURPHY, RENE WILLIAM - (1949-2011) - JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Rene Murphy 62, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rene passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife Linda, his son Shawn and his Florida family on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Brantford, Ontario he was the son of the late Raymond and Betty (Avery) Murphy. Rene was an avid golf player that loved spending time with his family and friends. The highlight of Rene's week was always his Friday night open house. His love for life was only surpassed by his love for Linda and Shawn. He was a true friend and touched the hearts of all who knew him. Rene will be sadly missed my his wife; Linda Murphy of Jacksonville, Florida, his son; Shawn Murphy of Fredericton, two sisters; Terry Avery (Peter) of Larry's River, NS, Mary Avery (Arnold) of Larry's River, two brothers; John Murphy (Helen) of New Minas, NS, Stephen Murphy (Hilda) of Liverpool, NS and several nieces and nephews. Rene was predeceased by one infant sister; Judy Anne.
A Memorial Service will be held in Fredericton, NB and will be announced at a later date.
