GEORGE MACQUARRIE
We, the family of the late George MacQuarrie, would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during our trying time. First, when Andrea and I travelled to Fort McMurray to collect George, his cousin Joey MacGillivray represented the family until our arrival and offered us endless support...thank you. To Fonda's Aunt Carol Richardson and Uncle Jim and his wife Kathy Rudderham, who drove up from Edmonton to offer support, thank you. To Fonda's cousin, Kimberly Reeves, who flew up from Edmonton and spent three days with us offering endless support, thank you. To Fonda's cousin, Grant and Sheena Mombourquette, who also drove up to offer their support, thank you. Family is so important at a time like this. To all who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, floral arrangements, monetary contributions, condolences, emails and phone calls, thank you. To the many who continually delivered food to our house on Davenport Rd., and to the ladies who laid out meal after meal for us, thank you. To those who brought food to the MacQuarries' in New Waterford, thank you. To George's brother Danny and his wife Rachel for opening their doors to family and friends in New Waterford, thank you. To all the friends of our daughters, Andrea, Jennifer and Caitlin, who delivered food and offered many hours of support, thank you. To all who traveled from Grande Cashe, Fort McMurray, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and other parts of Nova Scotia, thank you. To the family members who read at the Funeral Mass, thank you. To the pallbearers, Tony Brenna, Sylvain Brenna, Joey Ellsworth, Shelly MacLean, Colonel MacLellan, and Donny MacGillivray, thank you. To the honorary pallbearers, thank you. To Jennifer, his daughter, who sang, "You Raise Me Up" at this funeral, thank you. Dad would have been so proud. To Nipper MacLeod who sang, "It's a Working Man I Am", thank you. Thanks to Father Huntley, Father Gerald Campbell and Father Gus MacLeod who officiated the mass, thank you. It was a touching mass. To Basil and Kenny MacGillivray for their kindness and professionalism handling of everything from beginning to end, thank you.
