Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Friday, Aug 26, 2011, of Frances Margaret Power (nee Prosper) of Andrew’s of Charlottetown, and formerly of Georgetown.
Beloved wife of the late Hugh Power, and dear mother of James (Karen), Jocelyn (Dave), Carol (Roger), Pam (Paul), Trish (Rob), Danny (Jo-Anne) and Stephen. Frances is also fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Angela, Alicia, Brittany, Jason, Carolyn, Mandy-Lise, Maggie, Matthew, Noah; great-grandchildren, Samara and Aaron, sisters, Julie Hennessey, Anna Pettit, Vonnie Chaisson and Joanne Arthur; brothers, Billy and Ernie Prosper; and brothers-in-law, Ken and Lawrence Power.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary (nee Burke) Prosper; brothers, Wilfred and Vince Prosper; and sisters, Myrtle McGuigan and Elsie MacDonald.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until Tuesday morning, then transferred to St. Mary’s Church, Montague, for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at the parish cemetery.
Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at St. Mary’s Church, Montague, on Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11 a.m.
If so desired memorials in Frances’ memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Members of the Charlottetown Nurses Alumnae will gather at the funeral home for a prayer service Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
