It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Grace Wanda Paul on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Mrs. Voila (Nash) Paul, Membertou, and the late John William Paul.
She enjoyed making crafts, loved to decorate for each holiday season, Wanda enjoyed spending time with the apple of her eye, her precious grandchildren, family and friends. Her passion for bingo was displayed while she was in the hospital.
She was a very spiritual individual and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to mourn are her children, Frances MacDonald, Florida, Angie Marie (J.P.) Doucette, Ken Daniel Paul, Shane Jackson Paul (Jennifer), all of Membertou. Her loving grandchildren, Lance, Logan, Michael, Montana, Eliah, Mitchell, Jackson, she was known as ‘Bugga’ to McKenna Grace, Shaya, and Nevaeh. She is also survived by her sisters, Lois (David) MacKay, Shirley Christmas, Gloria Christmas, Anita Mitton, Emily Paul, Connie Osborne, (Jim), Joyce Paul (Gordie), brothers, Anthony ‘Ike’ (Elizabeth) Paul, James Paul and Calvin ‘Jip’ Paul; godmother, Jean LaBobe; godchildren, Taneilla MacDonald and Ricky Jij Paul; her Christmas son, Kalin Paul; best friend, Sheila Ginnish; as well as many nieces and nephews; and her pets, Killer and Elvis.
Besides her father, Wanda was predeceased by her sisters, Palma ‘Farmer’ MacDonald, Emma Paul, Beverly Paul, Lena Paul, Uncle Artie, godfather, Milton ‘ByeBye’ Gould and good friend, Marlene Matthews.
Visitation will take place Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at her residence on 17 Veteran’s Ave., Membertou, after 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Daniel Church, with Fr. Gus MacLeod officiating. Interment to follow in Membertou Memorial Gardens. A salite will take place at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.
