It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Elizabeth Young (Betty) announce her passing on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home in Shallop Cove, NL at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 36 years Alexander (Sandy) Young; daughter Gina (Greg Colombe), Fort McMurray; step son Michael (Lynn) Young, Brampton, ON; 4 grandchildren: Connor,, Dominic, Michael and Tabitha; sisters: Linda (Joe White), Stephenville Crossing, Rita (Edward) Hawco, Calgary, AB, Beatrice (Thomas) White St. George's; brothers: Danny (Ann) Blanchard, Shallop Cove, Gerard (Lorraine) Blanchard, Stephenville Crossing, Shawn (Melina) Blanchard, Calgary, AB; Sister-in-law Mary, Shallop Cove. Nieces and nephews: Stephen (Rhonda), Nikki (Charlie), Lenny (April), Juanita (Mike), Gizelle (Cory), Amanda, Sara, Scott, Matthew, Ashley, Jeremy, Conrad, Tony, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Steve and Annie Blanchard, brother Leonard Blanchard and nephew Daniel Blanchard. Visitation took place from St. Joseph’s Parish in St. George’s on Sunday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 - 12 a.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’ s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
