Sheila Anne Parsons (nee Toogood); wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully into the night on August 27, 2011 after courageously fighting illness for many years.
Born in Bath, England in 1941, Sheila moved to Canada with her family, eventually residing in New Glasgow for her remaining years.
She was predeceased by her parents William ”Bill” George and Evelyn May (Bengey) Toogood.
She is survived by a brother, Royston (wife Pauline).
Family was the most important part of her life and she will be forever missed by Robert “John” Hugh, her husband of 51 years, their children Mark (wife Cheryl), Ian (wife Susan), Lynda, Debbie (husband Fraser), grandchildren: Michael, Stephen, Lauren, Sara, Jennifer, Nicholas, Joshua, Jeremy, Cameron and Kaitlyn, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sheila is looking down from heaven on all those whom she loved and cared for.
Cremation has already taken place and there will be no visitation at Sheila’s request. She asked that all who loved and knew her not to mourn her passing but to celebrate the life she enjoyed.
A memorial service for all those who wish to celebrate with us will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton, with Rev. Charles McPherson presiding.
