ELLIOTT, Lillian Myrtle - 92, Tiverton, Digby County - It is with great sorrow that the family of Lillian Elliott announce her passing on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Kentville on December 8th 1918, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Owen and Alicia Rebecca (Williams) Wagstaff. Lillian graduated from Mount St. Vincent University in 1939 with a Bachelor of Secretarial Science and was the proud bearer of her Mount St. Vincent ring—she recently celebrated 70 years as an alumni. Upon graduation, Lillian was employed with the Kentville Research Station for 15 years. During that time, she was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, where she served on the Altar Guild and as a Sunday school teacher. Lillian married the love of her life, Aubrey, in 1954 and moved to Tiverton. She was a member of the Tiverton Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was involved with the Tiverton Sunshine Bible Class and the Women’s Missionary Society. Lillian was a life member of Sunrise Rebekah Lodge, No. 124, Tiverton and was a member of both the Tiverton Super Seniors and the Eliott Clan Society. During her stays at her mother’s homestead in Moschelle, she was also a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, serving on the Altar Guild. Lillian had a spice for life, she loved baking, sewing, playing the piano, the colour purple and writing skits for a variety of causes. Always dressed to the nines, Lillian was well-known for her hats, scarves and outfits, but above all, it was her youthful enthusiasm that made her beautiful. She is survived by a daughter, Alicia (Wout) deKoe, Falls Lake, Hants County; a son, Gerry (Joan) Elliott, Windsor and four grandchildren, Lianna and Jeremy de Koe, Tara and Ashley Langille. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey. Family and friends are comforted to know that Lillian is now with Aubrey. They had an inspiring marriage and a love that can only be described as a true fairy tale. Lillian loved and was loved by everyone she met, and for this, the world is a better place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville and from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 in the Tiverton Baptist Church, Reverend Rick Small officiating. A reception followed in the church vestry. Burial took place in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal. Family flowers only, by request. A special thanks to the Digby/Clare and Windsor/Northwood Home Support Agencies, and the staff at Hants Community Hospital. Thank you for your care, love, and support. Donations in memory may be made to the Tiverton Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
